Here we will see Ashrams, Sadhus and Yoga Centres apart from a melee of pilgrims. On the whole this trek provides us a superb view of Indian Himalaya and a deep insight of Indian culture which has lived over 5000 years. We also visit ancient Hindu temple Badrinath, the last village before Tibet border, provides an insight of Hindu religion and its culture. Haridwar and Rishikesh, situated on the banks of river Ganga are another two important religious centres that we would visit towards the end of our tour.

This spectacular trek gives you a perfect blend of cultural interest and physical challenge. Dramatic canyons, majestic mountains, cascading waterfalls, pine and birch trees, together with the holy waters of India’s most sacred river make the Source of the Ganges a feast for the soul and senses.

TsoKar an another salt water lake that has enormous deposits of salt on its shore. Then crossing the extensive Kyungshu or More plains we head back towards Leh crossing the second highest motor-able pass in the world – the Tanglang La and camp at the small village of Rumtse .

The most isolated and made inaccessible for nearly eight months a year due to heavy snowfall resulting in closure of all the access passes, Zanskar has the distinction of being the least interfered with microcosms of Ladakh, and thus one of the last few surviving cultural satellites of Tibet. This geographical isolation together with the esoteric nature of Buddhism practiced here has enabled its some ten thousand inhabitants to preserve and perpetuate their cultural identity.

Bhutan is cradled in the deep folds of the Himalayas. Very little has been heard of Bhutan and to most people it is a hidden kingdom shrouded in mystery. It is classed as one of the most exotic destinations in the world today.

The Indus valley which offers fabulous huge and rough landscapes alternating with vast and green oasis constitutes the major axis of Ladakh. The valley is full of all the colors of ladakhi’s life and their Buddhist and Tibetan cultures.

The descent to the Chandra valley is steep and after crossing the river reach Chattru. From Chattru which is an ideal camping spot with some shops in summers head up the chandra valley walking along the Chandra river till Batal which is on the base of the Kunzum Pass (4551m) from Batal trek to the idyllic Chandertal Lake (4,270m) the moon lake.

The Sanctuary is typical of the diversity of Himalayan terrestrial ecosystems, combining alpine meadows, temperate forests and warm broad leaf forests. According to the surveys conducted by the World Wildlife Fund some 203 species of plants, 119 species of birds and 18 species of mammals have been confirmed.

The Garwhal Himalaya is one of the most unspoilt regions in the state of Uttaranchal. Here we find some of the holiest sites as the Ganges emanates from this area which attracts religious pilgrims all year round. Forested foothills majestically rise upward to beautiful bugyals (high altitude meadows) carpeted with wild flowers.
